A Message from Our Chair
The Go Red committee of Northeast Louisiana is extremely excited about this year’s Go Red on the River event and the educational opportunities being provided to the community. I am personally appreciative of the hard work and dedication that each committee member is putting into this project. I also wish to thank our many corporate sponsors who have been so generous in supporting the American Heart Association.
This year we have changed the format from a luncheon to an evening event so that more working women are able to participate and have more time to relax and socialize with friends and meet other women and men in the community. The evening promises to be lots of fun with heart healthy and delicious food, heart healthy red wine, live music, a Red Purse Raffle of designer purses; a Red Purse Silent Auction, with one purse featuring a 7 day vacation to Cabo San Lucas!
In addition, the educational component which previously was two hours of seminars prior to the luncheon has been re-designed to provide educational outreach into the community during the months of January and February. “Lunch and Learn” sessions are being held throughout the community discussing prevention of heart disease and encouraging healthy lifestyle choices. It is our desire to put as much energy as possible into making sure that heart disease is no longer the number one killer of women in America.
Please join us in supporting the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women event.
